Our Lady of Mount Carmel Novena: Day Four

The newborn Jesus was cold, born at night in a cave. There was no room for Him in the inns, nor in the hearts of the people who closed their doors. Holy Mother held her baby and Lord, and she warmed Him:

Luke 2:7 She wrapped him in swaddling clothes

We aren’t babies anymore, but we are still cold, lonely and frightened sometimes. Don’t our hearts also need swaddling to make us feel warm, loved and secure?

Whether or not you wear the Brown Scapular of Carmel, I pray for you to hear as Saint Juan Diego did from Our Lady of Guadalupe, “Am I not here, I, who am your Mother? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms?”

Here is the fourth day of the novena to Jesus through the intercession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel:

When you gave us, Gracious Lady, the Scapular as our Habit, you called us to be not only servants, but also your own children. We ask you to gain for us from your Son the grace to live as you children in joy, peace and love.

(pause and mention petitions)

Say: Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be

Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us.
