Day 5 or 6 of the 33 Day Consecration to Mary - False Jesus

Today is day five or six of the 33 day consecration to Mary, depending on whether you were ending on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

As the liturgical year comes to a close, we hear Jesus talk about the end times. The end is coming, but that is a day that Jesus says only the Father knows. In the meantime, Jesus warns many will come who claim to be Him or to be able to give what He promises. We are warned in today’s Gospel not to listen to false teachers. This is an issue I feel led to pray about often - the “false Jesuses” and confusion that are prevalent in the world. There are 33-thousand Protestant denominations and as many or more kinds of Catholics under one umbrella. There are many who claim no denomination, but say Jesus backs them. There are many who say their peace and salvation come from a theory or a lifestyle or a system of government or a person. Some would say there is no truth or that it’s all a question of what’s “true for you.” But in today’s first reading from Revelation, Jesus wears a crown and wields a sickle. He is the judge. There is a place where the buck stops and it’s with Him. I want to be sure I’m following the right Jesus. May the Lord forbid I be one who asks in bitter surprise, “Didn’t I eat and drink with You and cast out demons in Your name?” and hear Jesus respond, “Depart from me, you evil doer, I never knew you.” It’s one of the scariest lines for me in Scripture because I know it’s not enough for me to coast in what I think is right. This post isn’t warm and fuzzy. I don’t expect to get a lot of likes. But I specifically sought consecration to Mary years ago and wanted to consecrate others to her for this very issue: She knows the real Jesus from a fake one. She knows when an angel of darkness is pretending to be Light. She knows when evil says pretty lies promising salvation or peace or joy in ways that really lead to destruction. If God chose her when He could have just as easily come without her, then I know He allows her to be a guide. Through Mary’s intercession, may the world be delivered from every lie and false teaching so we can come to know the true and only Jesus. Today, we consecrate ourselves, our families, our nation and our Church. A Solemn Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Most Holy Virgin Mary, tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the request of the Vicar of Your Son on earth, we consecrate ourselves and our families to your Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart, O Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and we recommend to You, all the people of our country and all the world. Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us as You wish to accomplish Your designs in the world. O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and Queen of the World, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King. Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism; kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of a virtuous life, an ardent zeal for souls, and a desire to pray the Rosary more faithfully. We come with confidence to You, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love. Inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed Your own Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart. Make our hearts and homes Your shrine, and through us, make the Heart of Jesus, together with your rule, triumph in every heart and home. Amen. --Venerable Pope Pius XI
