Our Lady of Mount Carmel Novena: Day One

In Catholicism, it’s a common prayer to ask Mary to keep you under her mantle, or that someone you care about be kept under her mantle. A mom often has kids grabbing at her clothes (and I have four extra kids besides mine over at my house today, so I know this very well right now). Mary is a good mom, who keeps her kids warm and safe.

Let’s ask for that affirmation, love, protection and safety from God today through the intercession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Whether or not you wear the Brown Scapular of Carmel, it’s always best to stay by your mom.

Proverbs 31:21 She is not concerned for her household when it snows— all her charges are doubly clothed.

Here is day one of the novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel:

O Beautiful Flower of Carmel, most fruitful vine, splendor of heaven, holy and singular, who brought forth the Son of God, still ever remaining a pure virgin, assist us in our necessity! O Star of the Sea, help and protect us! Show us that you are our Mother!
